Our client is a high-profile UK-based International Cross-Technology Renewable Developer and is looking to appoint a Battery Storage Analyst to join their established UK Storage team. The role will report directly to the Senior Storage Manager to contribute towards country-specific storage development strategies and pipeline identification utilising power system and market analytics, storage revenue stream forecasting and regulatory insight. (Role with focus on UK and EU markets)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Power system and TSO grid analysis to identify potential project opportunities

  • Power market and regulatory analysis to develop Renewco Power’s market specific storage business cases;

  • Analysis of third party information to develop revenue forecasts to contribute to the strategy summaries and financial models;

  • Utilize knowledge and experience of power systems to assess opportunities and risks for storage projects in specific locations and nodes, thereby identifying preferable connection points which the country-specific development teams can progress project siting opportunities.

  • The successful candidate will support the Storage team in developing business cases for storage projects in multiple European markets, through commercial RtM analysis and assessment of revenue streams in each of the target geographies based on fundamental bottom-up (i.e. renewables penetration, power market trends, need of ancillary services, others) and top-down (i.e. regulatory, country targets) storage market analysis.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with a TSO, storage RtM provider or Optimiser, pure play storage developer or technical consultancy with a focus on analysing power systems and markets.

  • Masters’ degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, business or engineering, enabling complex data analytics

  • High IT proficiency in MS Excel, macros and/or programming

Not essential but desired skills:

  • Technical specialism in Power system engineering and analysis

  • Technical specialism in battery storage

  • Power market modelling
