Flotation Energy is a leading developer and owner of offshore wind projects. The IT Operations Lead will be responsible for IT processes, practices, and IT services necessary to meet the business needs of internal and external users. The role will encompass the responsibility for managing the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring reliability and security of systems.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide timely and efficient technical support to internal employees, addressing their IT-related queries, issues and requests.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network problems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.

  • Serve as the point of contact for all internal IT support inquiries, providing excellent internal customer service and ensuring a positive user experience.

  • Manage and maintain an inventory of IT assets, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, ensuring their availability and proper functioning.

  • Administer user accounts, access privileges, and security settings, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks, such as software updates, system patches, and antivirus scans, to ensure optimal performance and security of IT systems.

  • Create and update IT documentation, including FAQs, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures, to facilitate self-help and knowledge sharing among employees.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, software updates, and IT trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation within the internal IT infrastructure.

  • Manage IT budget and optimise the spend to achieve best economic value for the company.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 standards and requirements related to information security management.

Person specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud computing.

  • Expertise in information security practices and protocols.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
