Commercial Origination Manager

Overview:
As a leading independent producer of renewable energies looking to diversify its footprint in Europe, Boralex has ambitious growth targets in UK and a strong project pipeline. Being a leading company in French PPA market and one of the most awarded producers from French national tenders, Boralex and its Energy Markets team has demonstrated its ability to efficiently sell its green electricity through all available marketing channels.
In this context, we are looking for an originator to join us and build and maintain relationships with our clients to support our growth objectives and provide recommendations to secure our energy offtake.
As the first UK based member of the Energy Markets team and working closely with the UK management, you will build a strong energy offtake strategy. With the aim of maximizing the value of our UK portfolio of renewable assets (wind, solar, BESS), to support its development and to manage the risks associated, in application of our strategic plan. For this purpose, you will build and maintain a portfolio of clients and partners, consisting of utilities, industrial consumers and energy traders and will manage Boralex route to market through PPAs or CfDs, and alternative products related to new businesses.
Role Objectives:
· To support the European Energy Market Manager in defining the power (electricity, REGOs and ancillary services) sale strategy for our UK pipeline and identify value opportunities across the business and contribute to its execution. Working in collaboration with UK management, development and finance teams
· Originate and structure innovative, adaptative route to market solutions for each technology (wind, solar, BESS), Lead the origination of CPPA business in the UK and secure the energy offtake of our pipeline
· Coordinate Boralex application to the regulatory tenders for subsidies (e.g. CfD) together with the development and financial analysis team
· Conduct commercial negotiations and close profitable PPA contracts
· Identify, develop and maintain relationships with major electricity buyers such as industrial companies, and utilities
· Manage existing commercial relations and guarantee the satisfaction of our customers
· Monitor market developments to identify consumers, their needs, or changes in offering structures and regulatory developments
· Set up and manage sales reporting with the main KPIs monitored by our management and our customers
Role Requirements:
You are a graduate of a business school or engineering school, with a specialization in energy or finance; You have 5 to 7 years of experience in the energy and/or renewable energy markets, preferably in commercial roles, with a strong network across UK industrial energy consumers and utilities.
You have developed a solid experience in business development and customer relationship management, and have a good understanding of the energy market and economic and regulatory issues.
You are a business oriented individual, with a proven ability to work in an international environment, and structure and synthesize information. You are good communicator, comfortable in complex negotiations; Proactive, creative and an open-minded individual.
