In this role you will take a leading position in managing a pipeline of mainly onshore wind and energy storage projects from origination through to the start of construction. You will be part of a vibrant development and deployment team with varied levels of experience within the industry.

YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the UK Development and Deployment Director and collaborating with the rest of the development team, as well as other specialists within Boralex, the candidate will develop mainly onshore wind and battery storage projects across the UK. This is a senior leadership role within our development and deployment team, requiring a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership, and strategic project management skills. You will manage multi-disciplinary and multinational teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with Boralex’s high standards for safety and sustainability.
The candidate’s responsibilities will include:
Þ Monitor and inform the team of key policy and market developments relating to renewable energy within the UK;
Þ Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Þ Ability to work independently on multiple complex renewable energy projects.
Þ Support the development of opportunities, which entails:
o Supporting initial triage and due diligence of identified opportunities.
o Working closely with internal and external resources to complete due diligence as well as technical, commercial and financial project development.
o Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
o Managing and communicating project progress towards task deadlines and identifying critical path challenges.
o Oversee consenting processes, environmental assessments, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring timely approvals.
o Develop and maintain relationships with landowners and other stakeholders.
o Developing and providing project status updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
o Analyse tenders, participate in and coordinate the preparation of bids.
o Represent the company and projects at public information meetings;
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Þ Bachelor's degree or Masters in engineering, environmental science, business, or any other related field.
Þ Minimum 8 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role focused on onshore wind energy projects.
Þ Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
Þ Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex wind projects from inception to operations.
YOUR Skills and Attributes
Þ Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Þ Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities of developers and the implications of development activities on future construction and operation activities
Þ Excellent project management skills and proficient with MS Project, Word and Excel.
Þ In-depth understanding of the technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of onshore wind projects.
Þ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Þ Passionate about renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
Þ Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
Þ Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Þ Willingness to travel as required to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
Þ Ability to create a collaborative working environment and build strong relationships, trust and transparency;
Þ Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multinational team.
Þ This position will require occasional travel abroad, mainly France once a quarter.
