Senior GIS Analyst
Location - Ringwood / Edinburgh
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior GIS Analyst to join our team and contribute to the success of our renewable energy projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative industry, supporting projects across the UK and collaborating with international teams.
The Senior GIS Analyst will work closely with several teams including the wider Origination team, Development and Deployment, Procurement, Construction and O&M teams. Some travel to sites around the UK might be required.
You will work closely with our existing mapping manager (ex-staff/ consultant).
Demonstrated success at meeting deadlines and able to deliver on SMART objectives.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people and the use of active listening skills is a key requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with leadership and internal/ external stakeholders to grow the company’s portfolio through the identification of new renewable development opportunities throughout the UK
Mining and curating global GIS data relevant to renewable and other infrastructure projects
Leading on aspects of CPO and DCO submissions including land referencing and the preparation of plans for Contract for Difference ICP submissions
Title interrogation of UK Land Register
Land Data Management
Management of Origination CRM database
Importing and exporting CAD to GIS and vice versa, including georeferencing
Create industry-standard project specific new base maps and post existing system maps from available records
Preparation, review of CAD/GIS proposals and scope of work requests
Perform implementation, processing and quality assurance/ quality control on new and updated data
Analyse and evaluate geospatial data using a variety of software
Implement technical algorithms and equations into GIS models
Provide technical expertise and support to groups, personnel, and users in GIS and data efforts.
Complete special requests for various groups by utilizing existing data, analysing results, and produce drawings and models, reports, maps, and supporting documentation.
Participates in origination, consenting and construction processes.
Provide Marketing and Pre-Sales support, generating maps and solutions for proposal opportunities.
đź’ˇ To succeed in this position, you need:
Senior GIS Analyst to perform analysis in a variety of applications concerning renewable energy, primarily wind projects within the UK
Leverage mapping systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and CAD to prepare maps and drawings for project deliverables, building custom models to aid site origination and land referencing
Proven experience, ideally with minimum of 5 years’ experience in GIS/ CAD and CRM data systems
Skilled in utilizing ArcGIS and AutoCAD software. Maps and drawings must be created with accurate detail that incorporates topography, boundaries, permitting ordinances, environmental variables, design inputs, field notes and must be able to comprehend, interpret, and render verbal inputs from the wider in-house teams
Worked within a renewables company, land agency, chartered surveying organisation is desirable
Working within the Origination team although the role will transcend into Development and Deployment, and Construction
Experience with renewable energy, particularly wind. Expertise using GIS software products, especially ArcGIS. Expertise using AutoDesk software products, especially AutoCAD.Good understanding of the different enabling acts that promote DCO and CPOs in the UKExperience aiding in the production of statutory compliant Books of ReferenceExcellent understanding of His Majesty’s Land Registry, Registers of Scotland and the General Register of SasinesProficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Project.Demonstrated customer relationship and people skills.A clear communicator who can partner multidisciplinary teams, in-house and externally to have the impact we need to deliver our ambitious goals Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.Required: a Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline (e.g. GIS, geography, planning) or related experience. Master’s or higher a plus.The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in GIS products. A GISP certification or AssocRICS is advantageous.
