Electrical Engineer - Onshore Renewables

Ventus is thrilled to be working with an onshore renewables developer to appoint an Electrical Engineer. The Electrical Engineer will be primarily responsible for helping the team to achieve net-zero. The post holder will help develop, build and operate renewable energy projects including onshore wind farms, solar parks, battery storage and other flexible energy generation sites.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to the Operations and Grid Director to ensure grid connections are optimised.
Assist the business development team with grid input and assessments.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to determine the viability of projects, including site analysis and grid connection studies.
Provide estimates of ongoing charges for future projects.
Prepare and submit G99 and/or transmission applications.
Support the delivery and progress management on multiple grid connection contracts.
Efficiently manage grid payments including securities and liabilities.
Review and resolve any technical, legal or commercial queries found in grid offers.
Continually look at ways to improve efficiencies through data analysis and reviews of energy use and losses on operational assets.
Independent Connection Provider tendering support.
Deliver the technical input to service market understanding and opportunities.
Develop technical specifications and requirements for electrical components and systems.
Draft the company’s requirements for tendering and review tender submissions.
Ensure projects comply with UK regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and industry best practices.
Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to less experienced engineers and other team members.

Independent Connection Provider (ICP) tender scope accuracy and programme delivery
Promote, contribute, and adhere to the Health and Safety Plan and all relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidance.
Essential Requirements:
Graduate or equivalent, with experience or qualifications in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Full UK driving licence.
Minimum 5-years’ PQE, within a renewable energy company.
Experience of HV/EHV.
Interest in decarbonisation / net zero / networks / generation
