Our client is a high-profile International Cross-Technology Renewable Developer/Owner/Operator looking to appoint a Grid Manager to oversee project connection from site identification throughout the entire development and construction phase. The Grid Manager will lead the project’s connections delivery as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction projects that could be located locally and regionally across Italy.
Role Description
· Oversee the suitability of the grid for early-stage projects
· GRID Mapping for improvement of Origination activities
· Managing the Projects’ grid applications and providing advice and strategic direction to the Project Team
· Review of 3rd party engineering reports for connection activities as an expert;
· Serve as technical point of contact for all TSO/DNO communications, both in development and during construction
· Lead Grid Offer negotiations with TNOs/DNOs on pricing, milestones, payments, etc.
· Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning of interconnection assets
· Develop and maintain relationships with industry leading ICPs
· Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and techniques to optimize new builds;
· Develop and manage cost estimation and schedule for grid connections throughout the project development process
· Cooperate with the Project Team (external and internal): Legal, Engineering, BD, with the purpose of implementing large-scale Photovoltaic projects connection
Experience Required
· BS Electrical Engineering or similar
· 3+ years of medium to large-scale (10-50 MW) interconnections of power generation projects
· In-depth knowledge of Grid Code and compliance requirements
· ICP project development, design and construction
· Participation in and leading interconnection processes in Italy;
· Strong ties to key industry players ICPs, manufacturers, etc.;
· Knowledge of market-standard construction and equipment costs for grid connections;
· Fluent language proficiency in English & Italian
