Onshore Consent Lead - Offshore Wind

Ventus is working with a leading offshore wind developer to appoint an Onshore Consent Lead.

The Onshore Consent Lead is accountable for the relevant onshore consenting strategy for the Project. The objective of the role includes achieving buildable consent for the relevant onshore elements of the Project, securing a uniform approach to authorities/regulators and stakeholders and management of the onshore deliverables from consultants.

Contract duration: 12 months

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the onshore elements of the DCO, TCPA for the project

  • Managing the deliverables of the onshore consultants in the responsible areas

  • Responsible for stakeholder engagement in the responsible areas;

  • Develop and implement QA processes for the onshore deliverables on the project.

  • Ensure strong cooperation within the Project for all onshore packages in relation to onshore consenting risk and deliverables;

  • Onshore EIA contracts and budget management

  • Input and support Consent manager on resource needs, programme and risks in relation to the offshore elements

  • Provide updates on key show stoppers on the onshore workstreams to the Consent Manager 

  • Close coordination with the Offshore or Generation Lead, Land Manager and Stakeholder Manager

Key tasks:

  • Deliver buildable consent of the onshore elements of the project on time and to budget according to the programme

  • Input and influence project consent strategy for the onshore elements and feed to the Consent Manager, considering company strategic aspects to optimise individual project consent. Consenting strategy includes: stakeholder engagement, authority processes, sequence of activities, project risks, approach to procurement,

  • Manage consenting risk continually at project level. Clear and proactive communication of risk to the project, and to the line/strategic team to prevent issues in the project and flags risks that could impact across the  portfolio;

  • Drive best in class approach to external onshore stakeholder engagement. Manage and perform high level stakeholder engagement with key stakeholders on relevant project issues via the Stakeholder Engagement Manager and consultants resulting in final Statements of Common Ground

  • Identify and feed back to the Consent Manger project lessons learned

  • Provide expert advice on onshore consent and environmental project issues to maximise competitiveness to the project packages

  • Support Land Manager to secure access to survey works and landowner liaison
