Renewable Project Developer

Our Client is a high-profile cross technology renewables developer that Construct, operate and develop a portfolio of assets (Solar/BESS/On-shore Wind) across the UK & Ireland. They’re currently looking for a Project Developer to join in Development team. Role can be based in either the Glasgow or Edinburgh office and will report to the Head of Projects.

 

About the role


The Developer will Project manage the delivery of utility-scale wind /solar / BESS assets, covering the commercial and technical aspects from the point at which planning permission has been received through to commercial operations, and leading the team of experts in their respective areas;

Role responsibilities

  • Project managing the delivery of allocated wind farm/solar farm project(s). This will cover the commercial and technical delivery of the renewables asset, normally from development consent, through contracting, into construction and through to commercial operations. This will be supported by the construction and legal team;

  • Support the project sale activities in conjunction with Corporate Finance team

  • Support project acquisition activities in UK and Ireland through either electrical diligence support or project management lead as required;

  • Participation in overall strategic direction and planning for activities in both the UK and Irish markets

  • Drafting of tender specification documentation and provide support in the review and assessment of tender responses;

  • Support organisations process for enhancing best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, internal tools & templates;

  • Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders regarding the project(s) needs and goals

 

Role requirements

  • 4+ Years of experience delivering Utility Scale Renewable projects (Solar/Wind/BESS)

  • You are technically, commercially and digitally inclined;

  • Degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or relevant discipline;

  • Post-graduate experience working on the construction aspects of the UK renewable energy sector;

  • Understanding of the structure, content and operational requirements of standard form of construction contracts including FIDIC Yellow or NEC 3;

  • Significant previous experience of managing input from colleagues, external advisors and contractors across a wide range of technical, financial and commercial matters;

  • Experience of managing and liaising with a Site Manager or Resident Engineer to support project delivery;

  • Commercially and financially astute with a good level of experience in dealing with challenging negotiations and disputes;

  • Organised and pragmatic with an ability to find solutions to challenging problems;

  • Adept at building strong, cooperative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to successfully reach project realisation;

  • SHEQ experience in managing projects;
