Our client is a high-profile International Renewables Developer backed by a major financial services and investment organisation. The organisation is headquartered in London and Madrid, with additional presence in France, Italy, Germany, Greece and Poland. Currently, the organisation has one of Europe's largest solar & storage portfolios at ~25GW. Our client has a strong track record of delivering Renewable projects across the UK and Europe. They're looking to recruit a Senior Origination Manager to join the German team. This role aims to pilot the creation of development opportunities for new battery storage and solar projects in Germany, within the framework of the strategic orientation and objectives set by the company. You will originate and manage the development of these new projects from origination to ready-to-build.
Role Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Head of Development, you will implement the origination development strategy for the country.
You will source projects and originate new opportunities by establishing site selection processes and tools.
You will participate in the identification and evaluation of projects that comply with the company's investment criteria (budget, Business Plan, etc.) and with high probability of success.
You will be responsible for coordinating the signing of land for projects by managing a team of land agents or partners.
You will initiate and coordinate the permitting process for the projects and have intricate knowledge of the German development process.
You ensure the proper preparation of projects before presentation to the IC (Investment Committee) and participate in go / no go decisions concerning EEG and PPA type tender projects.
You will actively manage the projects progress, budgets and report to the Head of Development, management and board of the company on progress, financial status, and key risks.
You will develop and cultivate relationships with key players in the sector, institutions, elected officials, and various partners, and carry out lobbying work.
You will work as part of a wider development team on strategic projects and cooperate with the team to meet the strategic goals for the country and company.
Experience required
Have a track record in originating and developing renewable projects in Germany from greenfield and site identification stage, through the environmental assessment processes to permitting.
Have great interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully manage many stakeholders on a project including landowners, grid companies, local authorities and communities.
Interested in working on new opportunities in an innovative and dynamic environment.
Ideally respectively graduated (Engineering, Business, Geography), you shall have at least 5 years of successful experience in project development of renewable energy projects, with excellent knowledge of administrative and environmental procedures in Germany. Good command of English is necessary for this role.
