Land Manager – International Renewable Developer – UK

Our client is a high-profile International Cross-Technology Renewable Developer/Owner/Operator looking to appoint a Land Manager in the UK to identify new sites suitable for delivering against the development strategy, working with landowners negotiating options, leases, and easements in order to deliver projects ready for development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify sites that are suitable for solar, BESS, and wind projects across the UK

  • Travel to sites regularly. The target areas for this role is the Midlands, North England and Wales.

  • Obtain letters of authority from landowners

  • Obtain source documentation needed for easements or leases from public records

  • Organise and deliver presentations to landowners

  • Negotiate and acquire easements/leases for BESS/solar/wind development and related agreements from project landowners

  • Manage land portfolio by communicating with landowners as necessary for the development team to develop the project to ”shovel ready” status.

  • Stay up to date with applicable regulations as they relate to the development of the battery and solar projects

  • Drive the commercial and legal negotiations of all real estate agreements.

  • Take ownership of assigned projects, including managing deadlines, multiple project objectives, project timelines, and success criteria for each.

Experience Required

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. surveying or land/estate management)

  • Extensive experience negotiating Heads of Terms, Options and Lease agreements

  • Solid understanding of commercial activities in relation to property and land law

  • Familiarity with the requirements funders have in relation to land agreements
