Associate Director - Transaction Advisory

Ventus is working with a leading consultancy, to appoint an Associate Director for its London-based Renewable Energy Transaction Advisory business.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Leading due diligence assignments – As a Transaction Associate Director you will be considered a “safe pair of hands” to manage complex and challenging technical and commercial due diligence assignments in the renewable energy sector, with limited support from the senior leadership of the team. You will be responsible for managing the quality of our work and ensuring that our work products delight our clients and meet their expectations.

  • Commercial management of due diligence assignments – You will also be responsible for agreeing the scope and budget of assignments and managing these accordingly to deliver projects profitably, on time and in line with agreed targets.

  • Client facing roles – You will be operating with a high degree of autonomy in client facing roles both in terms of project delivery and in terms of business development. You will actively manage your client networks and relationships and coordinate with the efforts of the wider team.

  • Leadership – You will show team working, leadership and judgement, taking responsibility for the performance of the team in delivering transaction and strategic advice. You will be a role model for junior staff to follow and you will support the development of junior team members in your own career development plan.

  • Sectoral knowledge – You will have developed both broad and deep sectoral knowledge in renewable energy projects and will be prepared to contribute this to enhance the performance of our team.

  • Process improvement and continuous development – You will actively participate in opportunities to feed learning back into the team to enhance and develop our processes and to strive to continue leverage our knowledge base and experience to deliver high quality work products as efficiently as possible.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience within the renewable energy sector, with a preference for those with experience in offshore and onshore wind sector.

  • Masters level Degree in Engineering, Finance or Economics or similar with infrastructure investment experience.

  • Attained chartered status or equivalent qualification with a recognised professional institution.

  • Prior experience of due diligence on renewable energy infrastructure assets (offshore and onshore wind projects ideally).
